Andersen signs with Barcelona
Australian Boomers star David Andersen has signed a three-year deal to play for European basketball powerhouse Barcelona.
One of the most dominant big men in international basketball, 212cm Andersen switches to Barcelona after four highly successful season with CSKA Moscow.
The 28-year-old former Wollongong Hawk is currently also in negotiations with the Atlanta Hawks, who hold his NBA draft rights, with a view to playing in the NBA next season.
Andersen leaves CSKA Moscow after reaching four Euroleague final fours, winning two championships and claiming four Russian League championships.
Three-time Euroleague champion Andersen averaged 12.8 points and 5.8 rebounds in 25 games last season.
