Unflinching, yet sympathetic and always instructive, this show should earn its producers some kind of medal.

Three years ago, 10,000 families embarked on a landmark study conducted by the Australian Institute of Family Studies with the object of finding out what it takes to give children the best chance at life. This penetrating and at times moving series follows a group of parents and their children as they deal with certain developmental hurdles.

Ominously titled Bad Behaviour, tonight's instalment examines the struggle to learn self-control. Following his older brother's near-fatal accident, family life for young Daniel has been grim. How will this influence his ability to control his feelings?

Similarly, young Wyatt has had a rocky start, with his parents negotiating a nasty separation.

Unflinching, yet sympathetic and always instructive, this show should earn its producers some kind of medal.
