Whitlam discharged
FORMER Labor prime minister Gough Whitlam has been discharged after two weeks of treatment in a Sydney hospital.
Mr Whitlam, 91, was released from Sydney's St Vincent's Private Hospital in a satisfactory condition, a hospital spokesman said.
He would not comment any further on Mr Whitlam's condition nor what he had been treated for.
Prime Minister Kevin Rudd visited the Labor luminary at the end of last month, saying: "We had a good yak. Gough was full of advice, as he normally is on each occasion I meet him."
